Description

A delightful chocolate cake perfect for Halloween celebrations, adorned with spooky decorations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Food coloring (optional for decoration)
  • Halloween-themed decorations (like candy, icing, or edible bats)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Slowly pour in the boiling water while mixing. The batter will be thin, but this is normal.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, decorate with frosting and Halloween-themed decorations.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerated. Freezing for up to three months is possible; wrap tightly.
