Description
Delicious jumbo pasta shells stuffed with a rich cheese mixture and topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella.
Ingredients
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the cheese mixture and place them upright in a baking dish.
- Pour marinara sauce over the stuffed shells and top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a meatless version, substitute beef with cooked spinach or mushrooms. Let the dish rest a few minutes after baking for the cheese to set.
