Description
Delicious soft and rich banana brownies made with ripe bananas and cocoa. A quick sweet treat perfect for using up ripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and mashed bananas until well combined.
- Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness. Melt the butter but do not let it cool too long before use. Check the brownies at 20 minutes to avoid overbaking.
