Description
A light and fresh dessert layered with sponge cake, custard, berries, and whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 cup vanilla custard
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 4 slices sponge cake or ladyfingers
- 2 tablespoons sherry or berry juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- If desired, macerate the mixed berries with sugar and sherry or berry juice for 10 minutes.
- Layer sponge cake slices in a large glass bowl or individual glasses.
- Spread a layer of custard over the cake.
- Add a layer of mixed berries.
- Top with whipped cream.
- Repeat layers if needed and finish with whipped cream and a few berries on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Serve cold with a fresh berry or mint leaf on top for presentation. Best eaten within 2 days.
