Description
A light and bright berry trifle made with layers of sponge cake, fresh berries, custard, and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cups mixed berries
- 1 cup custard
- 4 slices sponge cake
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 2 tablespoons sherry
- Optional sugar to taste
Instructions
- Cut the sponge cake into cubes and optionally soak with sherry.
- Layer sponge cake, berries, custard, and whipped cream in a trifle bowl.
- Repeat layers until the bowl is filled, ending with whipped cream on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Use firm berries to prevent them from turning to juice quickly. Keep the whipped cream cold until it’s time to use it.
