Description
A small, warm cake made with fresh strawberries, easy to prepare and deliciously light.
Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cream or yogurt (optional for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix fresh strawberries with sugar and lemon juice. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in the strawberries.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with cream or yogurt, if desired.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for best taste. Do not over mix the batter to keep a light crumb.
