Description
Brownie Cake combines the rich, moist texture of a brownie with the lightness of a cake, creating a delightful chocolate treat perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 3/4 cup White granulated sugar
- 4 Large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup Canola or vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup Buttermilk (room temperature)
- 1 cup Hot water (steaming)
- 1/4 cup Unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/3 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 TBSP Cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8 oz Cream cheese (room temperature)
- 2 cups Unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 3 cups Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, blend white granulated sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and hot water.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into the greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake completely.
- In a separate bowl, mix sugar, eggs, melted butter, oil, and vanilla extract. Add all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Layer the cooled cake by cutting it in half and spreading brownie batter in between layers. Frost the top and sides with the cream cheese frosting.
Notes
Ensure your eggs and buttermilk are at room temperature for better mixing. Avoid over-mixing the batter.
