Description

Soft, buttery sugar cookies infused with warm chai spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger. These cozy fall cookies are perfect for holiday baking, family gatherings, or enjoying with a hot cup of tea.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and chai spices together.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Slowly mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool completely, then drizzle with a chai glaze or serve plain.

Notes

  • Chill dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent spreading.
  • Add an extra egg yolk for chewier cookies.
  • Sprinkle raw sugar on top before baking for a crunchy finish.
  • Freeze cookie dough for up to 2 months.
