Description

A delightful treat of fresh strawberries dipped in rich chocolate, perfect for parties or gifting.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, with leaves
  • 8 ounces dark or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (optional)
  • 2 ounces white chocolate (optional for lines)
  • Small tray or plate
  • Parchment paper


Instructions

  1. Wash strawberries and dry them well with a towel.
  2. Put chocolate and oil in a small bowl.
  3. Melt the chocolate slowly in the microwave in short 20-second bursts or over a pot of hot water, stirring well each time.
  4. Hold the stem of a strawberry and dip it into the melted chocolate, turning to coat all sides.
  5. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  6. Set the berry on parchment paper on a tray.
  7. If using white chocolate, melt it and use a small spoon to drizzle thin lines over the set berries.
  8. Put the tray in the fridge for 10 to 20 minutes to set.

Notes

Use ripe but firm berries for the best results. Serve soon after setting to keep the berries fresh.
