Description
These brownies mix rich chocolate with fresh strawberries for a delightful dessert that is simple to make in one pan.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and mix in the sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out.
- Layer the sliced strawberries over the brownie batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- While the brownies are baking, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable oil together until smooth.
- Once the brownies are cooled, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.
- Allow the chocolate to set before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. Use fresh, firm strawberries for best results.
