Description

These brownies mix rich chocolate with fresh strawberries for a delightful dessert that is simple to make in one pan.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and mix in the sugar until combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out.
  7. Layer the sliced strawberries over the brownie batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. While the brownies are baking, melt the chocolate chips and vegetable oil together until smooth.
  10. Once the brownies are cooled, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.
  11. Allow the chocolate to set before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. Use fresh, firm strawberries for best results.
