Description

A rich and warm chocolate cake with a gooey center, perfect for a sweet treat or small party.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups dark chocolate chips or morsels
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter four 6-ounce ramekins and dust with cocoa powder.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips until smooth.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate into the egg mixture and fold in the flour until just mixed.
  5. Divide the batter into the ramekins and bake for 12–14 minutes, ensuring the edge is set but the center remains soft.
  6. Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, run a knife around the edge, then invert onto plates.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream, powdered sugar, berries, or sauce.

Notes

For variation, you can add a spoon of peanut butter in the center before baking or use milk chocolate for a milder taste.
