Description

A delightful Christmas bread with a moist texture, sweet flavor, and colorful sprinkles, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (210g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional topping)
  • Additional sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugar together until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and buttermilk.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the sprinkles, making sure not to overmix the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. If desired, sprinkle coarse sugar or additional sprinkles on top.
  7. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
