Ingredients
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1.5 cups Sugar (granulated or brown)
- 3 large Eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract (or almond extract)
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Toffee Bits (or chocolate/butterscotch chips)
- 0.5 cup Chopped Nuts (pecans, walnuts, or omit)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until smooth.
- Fold in the toffee bits and chopped nuts without over-mixing.
- Pour the batter into the greased pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra crunch, add some toffee bits on top before baking. Ensure to use room temperature ingredients for the best texture.
