Description

A simple and sweet treat for love day, these chocolate covered strawberries are easy to make and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried well
  • 8 oz dark or semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 oz white chocolate chips (for drip), optional
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or butter, optional (for smooth melt)
  • Parchment paper or wax paper for the tray
  • Toothpicks or forks to hold berries

Instructions

  1. Wash berries and dry them thoroughly with a towel.
  2. Line a tray with parchment paper.
  3. Put dark chocolate chips and oil in a small bowl, melt in the microwave in short bursts (15-20 sec), stirring each time until smooth, or melt over hot water.
  4. Hold a berry by the stem or use a toothpick to dip it into the warm chocolate, turning to coat and letting the excess drip off.
  5. Place the berry on the parchment paper, leaving space between each berry.
  6. Melt the white chocolate chips the same way, put in a small bag, cut a tiny tip, and drizzle over the dark chocolate for decoration.
  7. Chill the tray in the fridge for 15-30 minutes until the chocolate sets.
  8. Serve soon after they set.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; store in one layer in an airtight box in the fridge for up to 2 days.
