A simple and sweet treat for love day, these chocolate covered strawberries are easy to make and perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried well
- 8 oz dark or semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 oz white chocolate chips (for drip), optional
- 1 tsp coconut oil or butter, optional (for smooth melt)
- Parchment paper or wax paper for the tray
- Toothpicks or forks to hold berries
Instructions
- Wash berries and dry them thoroughly with a towel.
- Line a tray with parchment paper.
- Put dark chocolate chips and oil in a small bowl, melt in the microwave in short bursts (15-20 sec), stirring each time until smooth, or melt over hot water.
- Hold a berry by the stem or use a toothpick to dip it into the warm chocolate, turning to coat and letting the excess drip off.
- Place the berry on the parchment paper, leaving space between each berry.
- Melt the white chocolate chips the same way, put in a small bag, cut a tiny tip, and drizzle over the dark chocolate for decoration.
- Chill the tray in the fridge for 15-30 minutes until the chocolate sets.
- Serve soon after they set.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh; store in one layer in an airtight box in the fridge for up to 2 days.
