Description
Small, warm, and cheesy bites made from macaroni and cheese, perfect for a snack or party.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked macaroni, cheese, milk, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- Once the mixture has set, shape it into small balls or patties.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
- Dip each macaroni bite first in flour, then in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the macaroni bites in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Notes
For a make-ahead plan, you can form and freeze the bites before frying.
