Rich and soft fudgy brownies that are easy to make and a hit for both kids and adults.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overcook.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix after adding flour. Bake until a toothpick inserted shows a few moist crumbs.
