Description

A quick and comforting dish featuring creamy sauce and savory ground turkey, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Penne Pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ cup Half-and-half
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in ground turkey and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the turkey mixture and stir well to combine.
  7. Slowly pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  8. Add half-and-half and stir until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  9. Mix in cooked pasta until fully coated in the sauce.
  10. Add mozzarella and cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
  11. Top with parsley and red chili flakes if using. Serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
