Ingredients
- 8 ounces Penne Pasta
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 medium Yellow Onion
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Tomato Sauce
- ½ cup Half-and-half
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
- ¼ cup Fresh Parsley
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in ground turkey and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Sprinkle flour over the turkey mixture and stir well to combine.
- Slowly pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add half-and-half and stir until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
- Mix in cooked pasta until fully coated in the sauce.
- Add mozzarella and cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
- Top with parsley and red chili flakes if using. Serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
