Description
A delicious twist on the classic Philadelphia sandwich, filled with savory flavors and perfect for a quick meal or gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Optional: 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 3 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, add a drizzle of olive oil and heat over medium-high.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté for about 3-5 minutes until tender. If using, add mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the ground beef. Cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix for about 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover the skillet, and allow the cheese to melt, about 2-3 minutes.
- Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll.
- Optionally, toast the rolls for added texture before serving.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Experiment with different types of cheese and add spices for extra heat.
