Description

A delicious twist on the classic Philadelphia sandwich, filled with savory flavors and perfect for a quick meal or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • Optional: 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, add a drizzle of olive oil and heat over medium-high.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté for about 3-5 minutes until tender. If using, add mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the ground beef. Cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix for about 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover the skillet, and allow the cheese to melt, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  7. Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll.
  8. Optionally, toast the rolls for added texture before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Experiment with different types of cheese and add spices for extra heat.
