Description

A comforting, slurp-worthy twist on traditional lasagna, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef or sausage with the chopped onion until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, dried basil, and oregano. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add the broken lasagna noodles, reduce heat, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until noodles are tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Stir in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until melted.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread or a simple salad for a complete meal. Can be customized with more vegetables or different cheeses.
