Description

A quick and delightful snack that feels like small pies, perfect for parties or a cozy night.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 8 pieces caramel candy
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Cinnamon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a pan with paper or use a light spray.
  2. In a small pan, combine chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and 1 tbsp butter.
  3. Cook on low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring until apples are soft. Let cool slightly.
  4. Open the biscuit can and separate the dough into pieces. Press each piece flat.
  5. Place a spoonful of apple mixture in the center of each dough piece and add a caramel piece on top.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Place each ball seam side down on the prepared pan and brush with melted butter.
  8. If desired, roll each ball in cinnamon sugar.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 5 minutes and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dish of warm caramel for dipping. Refrigerate leftovers in a tight container for up to 3 days.
