A quick and delightful snack that feels like small pies, perfect for parties or a cozy night.
Ingredients
- 2 apples, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 8 pieces caramel candy
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- Cinnamon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a pan with paper or use a light spray.
- In a small pan, combine chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and 1 tbsp butter.
- Cook on low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring until apples are soft. Let cool slightly.
- Open the biscuit can and separate the dough into pieces. Press each piece flat.
- Place a spoonful of apple mixture in the center of each dough piece and add a caramel piece on top.
- Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Place each ball seam side down on the prepared pan and brush with melted butter.
- If desired, roll each ball in cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes and serve warm.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dish of warm caramel for dipping. Refrigerate leftovers in a tight container for up to 3 days.
