Description

A rich and moist chocolate cake layered with pudding and topped with whipped cream for the ultimate chocolate experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 package chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped cream (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).
  5. Fold in chocolate chips. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, layer the cakes with chocolate pudding in between. Top with whipped cream and additional chocolate chips if desired.
  9. Chill before serving and enjoy the ultimate chocolate delight!

Notes

For best results, chill the cake to allow the pudding to set properly.
