Description

A homemade version of the classic Panda Express dish featuring crispy chicken and tangy orange glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Toss the fried chicken in the orange glaze until evenly coated.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Serve with white rice or steamed vegetables. For a lighter meal, place it on a bed of lettuce.
