Description

A delightful twist on classic pecan pie, these crescents combine rich flavors with flaky dough for a perfect dessert or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Crescent roll dough (8-count)
  • 1/3 cup Chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup Packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 1 tablespoon Melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 egg for egg wash (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly coated.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into eight triangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the pecan mixture at the wide end of each crescent dough triangle.
  5. Carefully roll up each triangle from the wide end to the tip, sealing the sides.
  6. Arrange the crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each roll.
  7. Whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon of water, and brush it over the tops of the crescents.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, toast the pecans before adding to the mixture. Keep the filling snug to prevent bursting.
