A delightful twist on classic pecan pie, these crescents combine rich flavors with flaky dough for a perfect dessert or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 can Crescent roll dough (8-count)
- 1/3 cup Chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup Packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1 tablespoon Melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch Salt
- 1 egg for egg wash (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly coated.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into eight triangles.
- Place a spoonful of the pecan mixture at the wide end of each crescent dough triangle.
- Carefully roll up each triangle from the wide end to the tip, sealing the sides.
- Arrange the crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each roll.
- Whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon of water, and brush it over the tops of the crescents.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, toast the pecans before adding to the mixture. Keep the filling snug to prevent bursting.
