Description

Chewy, buttery pecan praline blondies are the perfect fall dessert bars. Topped with caramelized pecans, these easy blondies combine the cozy sweetness of brown sugar with the crunch of toasted nuts—ideal for holidays, gatherings, or coffee time.

Ingredients

For Blondie Base:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For Praline Topping:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F. Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Blondie Batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until combined. Fold in flour and salt until no dry streaks remain. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  3. Make Praline Topping: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter with brown sugar. Stir in heavy cream and cook until slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes. Add toasted pecans, stirring until coated.
  4. Assemble: Pour praline topping evenly over blondie batter. Spread gently with a spatula.
  5. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set.
  6. Cool & Slice: Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent version, drizzle melted dark chocolate over cooled blondies.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze individually wrapped bars for up to 3 months.
  • Swap pecans with walnuts for a slightly more bitter, earthy variation.
