Description

Soft and mild red velvet cupcakes, perfect for parties or a delicious snack at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

For best taste, frost with cream cheese frosting. Keep the cupcakes in the fridge if frosted.
