Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed hard candies (such as Jolly Ranchers)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Using cookie cutters, cut out shapes and place them on a baking sheet.
- Use smaller cutters to cut out the centers of the cookies.
- Fill the centers with crushed hard candies.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool completely before removing from the baking sheet.
Notes
Make sure to crush the candies into small pieces for even melting. Experiment with different cookie shapes and flavors!
