Description

A simple and delicious strawberry cake made with fresh ingredients that is easy to bake at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the pureed strawberries and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best taste. Allow the cake to cool completely before serving. Store in a cool place, covered, or refrigerate for up to 3 days.
