Description
A quick and delightful cake featuring a boxed mix and fresh strawberries topped with cream cheese and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix
- Ingredients required by cake mix (usually water, oil, and eggs)
- 1 cup strawberries, chopped
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup whipped cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven according to cake mix instructions.
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions, adding chopped strawberries to the batter.
- Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan and bake as directed.
- While the cake is baking, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture on top and then add whipped cream on top of that.
- Garnish with additional strawberries if desired.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Use ripe but firm strawberries to prevent the batter from becoming too wet. Cool the cake fully before applying the cream cheese layer for a clean look.
