Description

A comforting baked dish featuring jumbo pasta shells stuffed with ricetta, ground beef, and topped with marinara and mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning; cook until browned.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with a bit of salt and pepper.
  6. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta mixture, then place them in a baking dish.
  7. Pour marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a green side or salad. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
