Delicious and easy vegan heart-shaped sugar cookies perfect for Valentine’s Day, made with simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
- Confectioners’ sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the melted coconut oil and sugar until smooth.
- Add the almond milk and vanilla extract to the oil and sugar mixture, and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
- Allow to cool before dusting with confectioners’ sugar if desired.
Notes
For chewier cookies, avoid overbaking. Store cookies in an airtight box to keep them fresh.
